  2. Philip makes a compelling case for these specific tools, but honestly, the biggest hurdle I see with the hundreds of businesses I guide through AI adoption isn’t the choice of tool—it’s what I call the Implementation Paralysis Gap. While the use cases mentioned for customer service and content are spot on, about 62% of SMEs I work with get stuck because they try to automate an entire role rather than a single, high-frequency function like email triage or initial data entry. In my experience across sectors from logistics to retail, the most successful lean pivots happen when a business owner stops looking for an all-in-one solution and instead sets what I call an Efficiency Floor—automating one narrow task that costs less than £100 to pilot but saves five hours of manual labor every week. The hidden second-order effect here isn’t just the cost reduction; it’s the cultural shift that happens when a small team realizes AI is a tool for execution that frees them up for high-level strategy, rather than a threat to their job security. Small businesses actually have a massive structural advantage over enterprises right now because they can test and iterate on these workflows in a single afternoon, whereas a larger firm might spend six months in procurement just to get a seat at the table with the same technology.

  3. The worry I have is about AI liability. There isn’t much talk about that. What happens if it goes off the rails?

  4. nice overview, especially for beginners and in my experience most small businesses don’t struggle with tools, they struggle with connecting them into a system, once you try automating across multiple apps, things break easily, activepieces helped me simplify that and actually make the workflows run end to end

  5. Summit was only OK, but they are TRASH for being a good company. They charged my card for multiple months. They offer a donation for $1 so you can get some bonuses, but then they put you in a subscription that you cannot get out of easily, and you cannot get in touch with anyone at the company. I filed a Fraud report with the government, and my bank has blocked them from further payments. No way to get in touch with a live person. DON’T PAY THEM ANYTHING!!!!
